Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism in New Jersey

Alcohol abuse and alcoholism remain major health-related threats throughout the state of New Jersey. According to the New Jersey Department of Health, binge drinking is one of the most serious and dangerous substance related issues throughout the state. Binge drinking is characterized by consuming five or more alcoholic beverages over the course of one hour (men) or four or more alcoholic beverages over the course of one hour (women). In the state of New Jersey, 16.7 percent of adults over the age of 18 reported binge drinking within the past 30 days in the year 2017 alone. The same study suggests that, “ In 2019, there were 98,628 treatment admissions and 96,482 discharges reported to the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services by substance abuse treatment providers.”

Excessive alcohol consumption is associated with chronic liver disease, fetal alcohol syndrome, numerous other chronic and acute health-related issues and accidents, injuries and violence.

Our Simple Admissions Process

At Princeton Detox and Recovery Center we have developed an admissions process that is simple and straightforward. As soon as you or your loved one becomes willing to seek professional alcohol detox, our treatment advisors are ready to assist you. When you call, we will conduct a brief pre-assessment over the phone as well as a free, no obligation insurance benefit check. The pre-assessment helps us determine which level of clinical care best suits your individualized needs, and the insurance benefit check helps us determine whether your alcohol detox experience is covered partially or in full. If you are currently insured through a major regional or national health insurance provider, there is a good chance that some or all of your detox experience will be provided at no additional out-of-pocket expense. Finally, we set up a date and a time for your intake and set to work developing stress feed travel plans.
