Excellent
Alicia the therapist was great a blessing got me into a great pHp center with no insurance was a miracle worker and in a better state of mind and well being then ever before highly recommend this place for a detox plus the food is off the chain groups are highly available if wanted not forced if ya want to sleep your symptoms away
The Living Room at Princeton has truly changed my life, and I can’t thank them enough. I want to personally thank August Leming, also known as Doc, for opening this incredible place and creating a safe, welcoming space for real healing to happen. From the moment I walked in, I felt seen, heard, and supported not just by Doc, but by every staff member here. Everyone makes you feel like you belong and reminds you that your healing matters.

This is not like any treatment center I’ve ever been to. It’s smaller, which allows for almost constant, one-on-one engagement with the staff. The therapists are kind, compassionate, and truly invested in your progress. I want to give special thanks to my therapist, Mark, who has been pivotal for me. He creates such a safe space during our one-on-one sessions, and the EMDR therapy he provides has been exactly what I need. His kindness, compassion, and ability to truly listen have made a huge impact on my healing journey.

I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD, Mdd (major depressive disorder) anxiety, ADHD, SDD (seasonal depression disorder) Through The Living Room’s approach, I am finally able to work on these mental health challenges in a real, meaningful way. I do take my medication regularly, and I know that’s an important part of my stability right now. But I also believe that, over time, with the practices I’m learning here, my brain will continue to heal and rewire — and I may eventually be able to rely less on medications because I’ll have the tools within myself.

One of the most powerful things I’ve learned here is meditation and breath work. It has been absolutely paramount for me. I’ve learned so much about my mind, body, and soul, and how deeply connected they are. For the first time, I feel like I have real tools to help me when I’m frustrated, overwhelmed, or emotionally triggered. In the past, I would’ve turned to alcohol to numb those feelings. But now, through the breath work, meditation, and mind-body-soul practices I’m learning, I can stay present and move through those difficult moments with clarity and strength.

The group sessions are safe, supportive spaces where I can open up about my traumas without fear of judgment, surrounded by people who genuinely care and understand.

If you are struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health, this is the place where you need to be. The techniques they use here are some of the most unique and effective I’ve ever experienced, and they will help guide you through recovery in a way that feels real, personal, and lasting.

I am beyond grateful for Doc, Mark, the entire staff, and this program for helping me find hope, strength, and a true path to healing. Thank you for your time.
I had a wonderful experience here! The staff is amazing. The nurses are professional and thorough, the food is delicious and the beds are comfy! I highly recommend Princeton Detox for anyone looking to begin recovery! I learned a lifetimes worth of knowledge from the group meetings as well!
Princeton detox is the only place I’d ever recommend. They go above and beyond and you truly walk out of there as a new person. The group sessions and respect from staff especially Joe Tom and Brian (everyone really) i can never be more grateful.
If you or anyone you know is struggling with addiction, please please PLEASE call Princeton Detox! The medical staff and technicians are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I never felt judged or ashamed for the situation I was in. My accommodations were updated, clean and comfortable. If there was anything further I needed whether it be personal or medical the staff was sure to get right on it to make me as comfortable as possible. The 3 full meals a day we're always prepared with thought and balance, and the always open snack/beverage bar were always stocked. I'm excited for the next step in my recovery journey but will certainly miss my treatment team at Princeton Detox. Thank you for a new beginning!!

Learn More About Recovery

Addiction is an extremely complex and individualized disorder – one that affects men and women of all ages and social backgrounds in a variety of ways. The consequences of addiction range from physical to emotional and psychological. Those struggling with addictive disorders not only repeatedly put themselves in physical danger, but they wreak emotional havoc in their own lives and in the lives of their loved ones. Those suffering from addiction typically also face problems at work or school, and have an extremely difficult time maintaining jobs, grades, and general motivation and productivity. Fortunately, because addiction is such a serious and widespread problem, many resources are available to those looking to recover. While those in active addiction may believe that recovery is an impossible feat, beginning the journey towards a joyous, fulfilled, and substance-free lifestyle is possible for anyone – no matter how far down the scale they have gone.

Drug Detox

Drug detox is a blanket term used to describe any detoxification facility that assists individuals who have struggled with drug addiction, and are looking to begin living drug-free lives. If an individual has been using drugs for an extended period of time, or if he or she has been abusing a great quantity of drugs over a shorter period of time, detox will precede long-term inpatient treatment. In this sense, drug detox is utilized to physically stabilize an individual before he or she begins healing emotionally and mentally. Many believe that they can detox themselves at home; however, doing so may prove to be dangerous as well as ineffective. Oftentimes, there are medical complications when it comes to withdrawal. Though complications may not be life-threatening, they can cause unnecessary injury if a detoxing individually is not being medically supervised.

At Princeton Detox & Recovery Center we have extensive experience treating individuals who struggle with addiction, regardless of what substance or combination of substances they have been using. Because the symptoms of withdrawal can be so uncomfortable, and because medical complications have been known to occur, professional supervision is crucial. Not only does medical monitoring result in a more safe detox, but it helps to prevent potential relapse.

Alcohol Detox

Those who have struggled with alcoholism are more likely to experience severe and potentially life-threatening symptoms of withdrawal. Seeing as alcohol is a depressant, it alters your brain function, and changes the way in which your central nervous system communicates. If you consistently abuse alcohol for an extended period of time, the way your brain functions will change in a major way. When use is abruptly stopped, the brain will remain in an altered state, leading to serious symptoms of physical and psychological withdrawal. Mild symptoms including headache, stomach cramping, nausea, vomiting, sweating, and shaky hands, will begin within several hours of the last drink. More serious symptoms of withdrawal will likely begin to take hold within the next 24 to 48 hours. These symptoms may include rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, tremors, severe confusion, depression, anxiety, and even hallucinations (known as delirium tremens). These symptoms can be harshly uncomfortable – even life-threatening if not adequately monitored.

CuraWest offers medically managed detox, residential/inpatient programs, and virtual care for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction.

The first step in treatment is usually medically managed detox. Medications and supportive measures are available to ensure clients are safe and as comfortable as possible during withdrawal.

After detox, clients usually transition to residential care, comprising evidence-based therapeutic interventions including individual, group, and family therapy, as well as dual diagnosis treatment and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) as needed. The intensive program arms clients with the tools and support they need to achieve lasting recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. We treat the whole person and the whole family, helping to heal the mind, body, and spirit.

Following residential care, case managers help clients enroll in aftercare support. Along with options outside of Guardian Recovery’s offerings, ongoing care is available via our virtual services and/or Path Program, the latter of which offers in-home care and support for any phase of recovery.
