Humana Health Insurance LogoAs the tri-state area’s leading addiction detoxification center, Princeton Detox & Recovery Center will manage your individual case with the detailed, specific treatment plan that is most effective and beneficial to you. We understand that reducing stress while in treatment goes beyond the provision of therapy and medication and includes reducing the stress of the financial commitment. We will work closely with your insurance provider to help cover the cost of your treatment and ensure its affordability.

Princeton Detox & Recovery Center works with many insurers, including Humana. Your Humana coverage may pay some costs of your inpatient treatment, outpatient services, or after care programs. Factors considered include past use of coverage for substance abuse treatment or inpatient mental health services, the details of your individualized treatment plan, and the terms and conditions of your specific Humana plan, including deductible, copayment and coinsurance amounts.

An award-winning Kentucky-based company, Humana has been in the health insurance business since 1984 after more than 20 years as a nursing home company. Today, Humana medically insures 13 million Americans. Previously known as LifeSynch, Humana Behavioral Health has been a subsidiary of the company since 2005 and covers treatment for alcohol and drug dependency. Humana Behavioral Health benefits extend to a network of over 65,000 licensed mental health professionals and nurse practitioners. Case management, after-care follow up and an integrated approach that includes treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression or bi-polar disorder are all included under Humana’s Behavioral Health benefits.

By law, all health insurance marketplace plans will include these behavioral health benefits for substance abuse treatment, and spending limits are not allowed on coverage of essential health benefits, which includes mental health and substance abuse treatment. For employer plans that include Behavioral Health coverage, mental and behavioral health services must be provided with the same benefits, deductibles and co-pays as for any other medical or surgical care.

In addition to detoxification and related medications, your Humana health insurance plan may cover inpatient and outpatient addiction recovery services such as the following:

  • Detoxification and related medications
  • Medical and psychological evaluation
  • Individual or group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Aftercare programs and case management

What your specific Humana policy covers is dependent on any of the following factors:

  • Your plan’s deductible, copayment and coinsurance
  • If yours is an individual or employer-based plan
  • If your plan is an HMO with in-network requirements or PPO
  • Your past history of treatment for substance abuse
  • A history of inpatient treatment for mental health issues
  • The state you live in where your healthcare plan originated
